We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Donald Richard McCallum (Ret’d) of Wiarton, ON  in Owen Sound, ON at Chapman House Residential Hospice peacefully on 10 July 2019 in his 79^th   year.   

Don was raised in Mount Forest, ON and served with the Royal Canadian Engineers for three years in Petawawa, ON and Germany. After his release from the Canadian Forces he graduated from Carleton University and followed a teaching career. Don taught History at the Bruce Peninsula District School in Lion's Head.  He retired in 1999 and enjoyed 20 years of collecting and painting soldiers, designing dioramas, setting up Remembrance Day displays in the library and downtown stores and model railroading. 

Don’s funeral service will be conducted from the George Funeral Home in Wiarton (  430 Mary St, on Saturday, 27 July  at 11:00 a.m. Interment following in Bayview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of remembrance to Bruce Peninsula Hospice or Chapman House Residential Hospice would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through the Funeral Home
