    We regret to advise of the death of Sapper David Scott (Ret’d) of St. Catharines ON on 12 December 2021 at age 83 years.

    David was born in Manchester, England. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1954 as a member of the 3rd Intake of Sapper Apprentices where he completed his academic and basic Field Engineer training at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC. During his short period of service following graduation from the Apprentices, David served with 3 Field Squadron in Victoria BC followed by a posting to headquarters of  1 Field Engineer Regiment in Chilliwack and then with 2 Field Squadron in Camp Gagetown NB during which time he honed his skills in administration and accounting. David also excelled in track and field, twice winning the tri-service championship in the 400 metre race. After retiring from the Canadian Forces in 1959, David found employment with various civilian companies and governmental agencies while working toward ever-higher levels of education and responsibility until he finally achieved an Accounting degree at Brock University and teaching there.
