    We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant William Frazer “Bill” Pettis, CD (Ret’d) of Oromocto, NB at home on Thursday, 9 August 2018 at age 58.

    Bill was born in Hinton, AB and gained his early experience with the military in Army Cadet Corps No. 2928 in Truro, NS (1974 - 1978). He then served for 22 years with 1st Battalion Nova Scotia Highlanders in Truro (1976 - 1998) before transferring to the Regular Force in 1998. Bill then pursued his new military career as a Construction Technician with the Canadian Military Engineers.

    Bill’s postings included 144 Airfield Engineer Flight, Pictou, NS (1998 – 2001), 2 Combat Engineer Regiment Construction Troop, Petawawa, ON ( 2001 - 2006) that included a deployment to Afghanistan, and 191 Construction Engineer Flight, Comox BC (2006 - 2010). His last tour was with Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in CFB Gagetown, NB (2010 - 2017). At CFSME Bill was an instructor, was with Standards Squadron and was also the manager of the CFSME Kitshop.  He retired in 2017 and settled in Oromocto, NB in his retirement.

    At Bill’s request, there will be no visitations or funeral.  Online condolences can be sent to the Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service for Bill on Friday the 29 September at 1400 hrs.  at The Lodge, 502 Rusagonis Rd, Rusagonis NB. Mrs Pettis prefers no uniforms and that relaxed dress is acceptable.
