    After more than 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, Sgt William Ford, CD, retired on 19 January 2022. Congratulatory messages and best wishes can be sent to WO M.C.S. Vance at Matthew.Vance@forces.gc.ca.


    Sgt William Ford enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces on 26 October 2001 as a rifleman with the Infantry. After completing BMQ and Battle School, Sgt Ford was posted to 2nd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2 PPCLI) in Shilo, MB. While serving with 2 PPCLI, Sgt Ford deployed to Bosnia as part of the Herzegovina Infantry Battle Group.

    In 2007, Sgt Ford completed an Occupational Transfer to Line Man. He was then posted to Dundurn, SK, and Shilo, MB, to support operations in the base Line Squadron. In 2014, Sgt Ford completed a second Occupational Transfer to become a Plumbing and Heating Technician. He was posted to CFB Esquimalt and CFB Cold Lake to be employed as a technician and as a Contracts Inspector. In 2021, Sgt Ford was posted to RPOU Det Wainwright and employed as a Contracts Inspector. After 20 years, Sgt Ford made the decision to retire from the Canadian Armed Forces and accept a public service position within RPOU.
