Sgt Neil Paquette, CD

We regret to advise of the sudden death of Sergeant Neil Paquette, CD as the result of a motor vehicle accident on 20 June 2014. Sgt Paquette was a serving member of Mapping and Charting Establishment. He enrolled in the Canadian Forces in July 2000 and was posted to 2 Combat Engineer Regiment in April 2001 following completion of his basic Combat Engineer training. While with 2 CER he deployed to Bosnia for Op PALLADIUM from Sep 2003 to Mar 2004 and to Afghanistan for Op ATHENA Roto 3 from Jan 2005 to Aug 2005.
In 2007 Neil transferred to the Geographic Technician occupation and was posted to Mapping and Charting Establishment upon completion of his Level 5A training in May 2009. Employed in Survey Troop, he undertook a multitude of survey missions that saw him deployed throughout Canada including the Arctic on numerous occasions.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Neil with his family during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on 24 June from 1400 to 1600hrs and 1900 to 2100hrs and on 25 June from 1000 until 1045hrs. A Service to honour Sgt Neil Paquette will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel, Arnprior on Wednesday 25 June at 1100hrs. A reception will follow at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre. In memory of Neil, a donation to CHEO would be appreciated by his family.
