    After more than 17 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, Sgt Nicholas White, CD, will retire on 03 June 2023. Anecdotes and retirement wishes may be sent to MCpl D.C.S. Spencer at Devon.Spencer@forces.gc.ca.

     


    Sgt Nicholas D. White enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces in March 2006 as an infantry soldier in the Reserves to serve with the Nova Scotia Highlanders. Over the next seven years, he became Section 2I/C and was proud to represent Canada overseas as part of the Canadian Forces Combat Shooting Team.

    In the summer of 2013, MCpl White changed elements and occupations to begin a new chapter in his military career as a Refrigeration and Mechanical Systems Technician in the RCAF. As an RM Tech, Sgt White was posted to CFB Bagotville, CFB Winnipeg, and CFB Gagetown, where he is currently the RM Cell Supervisor. Sgt White deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in 2018 and 2021 on Op IMPACT. He also deployed on domestic operations in Inuvik, N.W.T.

    Throughout his career, Sgt White has endeavored to demonstrate professionalism daily in support of his troops and DND’s goals. He is proud to be a soldier who is respected by his subordinates and superiors alike. Following retirement, Nicholas, his spouse Stephanie, and children, Everett and Grayson intend to return to his home area of Springhill, Nova Scotia, where he will enroll in a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
