    After more than 23 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, Sgt Éric Beaudet, CD, will retire on 20 May 2021. Anecdotes, congratulatory messages, and pictures can be sent to WO JRM Pouliot at Marc.Pouliot@forces.gc.ca.


    Sgt Beaudet will retire from the CAF on 20 May 2021 with over 23 years of loyal service to Canada, the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Engineers, and the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. Éric was born on 03 June 1977 in Roberval, QC. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 08 April 1998 in the Regular Force as an Armoured soldier. In 2008, he did a voluntary occupational transfer within the CAF to become a Geomatics Technician.

    During his career he was assigned to several different Units and Bases including:

    - CFB Valcartier with the 12e Régiment Blindé du Canada (12RBC) from 1998 to 2008;

    - Ottawa with Mapping and Charting Establishment (MCE) from 2008 to 2013; and

    - CFB Valcartier with the 5e Régiment du Génie de Combat (5RGC) from 2013 to 2021.

    Sgt Beaudet completed a NATO mission in the former Yugoslavia on Operation PALLADIUM as Armoured driver in 2004. He also completed a sovereignty domestic operation in the Canadian arctic with Joint Task Force North in Yellowknife as a Geomatics Technician in 2010.

    During his career, he completed the following courses with honors: Armoured QL3, Elementary Land Leadership Qualification, Geomatics Technician QL5, Survey Technician, and Geomatics Supervisor QL6A.
