We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Evan Davies, CD (Ret’d) in Nipawin SK on 21 July 2019 at age 84 years. Evan served the Canadian Forces for 31 years as a Firefighter with the Canadian Military Engineers.

Born in Smeaton, SK, Evan enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1953 and served as a Firefighter with the RCAF before joining the Canadian Military Engineers upon Unification of the Canadian Forces. He served at locations that included RCAF Station Saskatoon, SK, Canadian Forces Base Rockcliffe ON, CFB Baden in Germany, Canadian Forces Station Baldy Hughes BC, and CFB Comox BC. Evan served in uniform for 31 years and then continued as a firefighter with the Department of National Defence Fire Service until 1995. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Nipawin Legion Branch No. 120, the Cumberland Masonic Lodge, and The Saskatoon Shrine Club
