    Sergeant Émelie “Emmy” Pilon M.S.M., C.D., will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 06 January 2020 after 21 years of combined service.  At the members request, no DWD will take place.     Born Jan 19, 1980 to Wendy and Bernie Pilon. She was raised in Mississauga, ON. At the age of 18 Emelie joined the Army Reserves as an MSE Op and served from 1998-2005. She completed 2 tours from 2003- 2005 to Golan Heights, Israel, and Banja Luka, Bosnia. In late 2005 Sgt Pilon received her component transfer to Fire Fighter in the RCAF. After graduating FF QL3, Sgt Pilon was posted to Trenton, ON. She spent 5yrs there including a deployment to Haiti with the DART. For her efforts in helping after the earthquake disaster, she was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General. In 2011 Sgt Pilon was posted to Ships East where she served on HMCS Charlottetown, Halifax and St. John’s. In 2012 she had her first son Wesley and soon after Bradley came along in 2014. Sgt Pilon was posted to CFFCA in July of 2015 and enjoyed 4 glorious years teaching. Emelie and her family will relocate to Central Elgin, ON where she will start the next chapter in her life as a Fire Prevention Officer within the municipality in which she lives.
