Sgt Colin Hall, CD

    Sgt Colin Hall, CD will be retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces on the 21 August 2016, after 20 years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada, Canadian Military Engineers and the Canadian Armed Forces (see bio attached).  Sgt Hall has served our country for two decades of honourable service; Colin is finally preparing for the next stage of his life as a civilian, ready to enjoy the freedom and is retiring in the area of Trenton, Ontario.

    Sgt Hall's release date will be the 21 August 2016.  A Depart with Dignity ceremony will be held in Trenton on 5 August 2016, from 1130 hrs until 1500 hrs at the Air Force Association.

    Sgt Hall joined the CAF in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the 21 August 1996. After completing basic training in St-Jean Quebec, he traveled to Halifax to attend Navel Weapons Technician trades training. After seeing the light, he decided to re-muster to Vehicle Tech where his QL3 and Driver Wheeled courses were completed at CFSEME in CFB Borden.

    Upon graduation in July 1998, Colin was posted to 2 Svc Bn CFB Petawawa to start his QL4 training. Upon completion of his QL4 package, Sgt Hall was given the opportunity to attend a Parachuting course at CFB Trenton which he successfully graduated and received his jump wings on 20 April 2000. In July 2000 he was posted to 2 Fd Amb at CFB Petawawa. While at 2 Cdn Fd Amb he was advanced promoted to Cpl before his QL5. In September 2000 Colin attended and graduated his QL5, returning to 2 Fd Amb to be a MRT Commander, where he was deployed to the field numerous times supporting the 2 Fd Amb. During his time at 2 Fd Amb, Colin was deployed for a six month tour to Op DANICA in the Golan Heights from August 2002 to March 2003.

    In July of 2005 Cpl Hall re-mustered yet again and for the final time to Refrigeration and Mechanical Technician trade and was posted to ASU Petawawa while waiting for his QL3 in CFB Gagetown. He attended his QL3 in August 2005 and graduated from CFSME at CFB Gagetown as a RM QL3 in December 2005 and found himself posted right back to ASU Petawawa. Working alongside journeymen he completed his QL4 OJPR, then attended the QL4 and successfully completed the training in Gagetown on April 2007. In August 2008 Cpl Hall was posted to 17 Wg Winnipeg to the CE RM Section. Cpl Hall then found himself back in CFSME for his QL5, which he completed in June 2011. That same month Cpl Hall was then promoted to MCpl and became the 2 I/C for the MECH Shop CE.

    MCpl Hall deployed to Op MOBILE in September 2011 for a short 3 month tour where he was part of the shutdown crew tearing down the camp in Trapani. In August 2012 MCpl Hall once again found his way back to St-Jean for his PLQ completing it in October 2012. In June 2015 MCpl Hall was promoted to Sgt and was posted to CFB Trenton in August of that year.

    Sgt Hall is married to Pierrette and has two children, Conor and Keiran, with whom he intends to spend more time with during his retirement.
