Sgt B.C. Kennedy, CD (00339)

    After more than 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, Sgt B.C. Kennedy, CD, (00339) will retire on 3 June 2025. A DwD reception will be held on 30 May at Gage Golf and Curling Club 30 May from 0900-1500hrs. If attending, please RSVP to Capt S.T.     Sergeant Blair Kennedy was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia 14 December 1982. He enrolled in 45 Fd Engr Sqn now known as 36 CER on 20 January 2000. Sgt Kennedy excelled in the trade and was teaching engineer’s by the summer of 2003 and has remained current and active in the training of soldiers from 36 CER as well as soldiers from the Eng Unit across Canada.
    His Squadron duties have included multiple different positions in the Field and Heavy Troop. He has been the Course Non-Commissioned Officer and Instructor for numerous Garrison run Basic Military Qualification and Primary Leadership Qualifications courses. Sgt Kennedy also has instructed as Cadres Non-Commissioned Officer, Course Non- Commissioned Officer, Marching Non-Commissioned Officer, Ammo Representative, Advance Bridge cell IC at LFAA TC Det Aldershot and CFSME for over 10 years.
    Sgt Kennedy has been on numerous tasking such as Disaster Relief in Halifax N.S (Op SPLINTER), Goose Bay (Range clearance Exercise), Bridges Across Canada (Port Hood), CFB Alert, Nunavut (Rock quarries and pipe line operations), and including multi tasking with NATO Forces in Fort Pickett, Virginia and working with the Canadian Rangers on a costal patrol around NL.
    Sgt Kennedy is currently employed at 5 CDSB Gagetown as the IC Company Quartermaster Stores. He lives with his Wife, Lisa, his daughter, Cassandra, his son, Connor and his dog Shadow.
    He loves the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing and trapping. His first job as a boy aged 7 was hunting and trapping coyotes and rabbits followed by lobster and crab fishing until he joined the CAF.
    In retirement he plans to spend many hours in the woods or on the water and enjoying time with his family.
