    We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Robert “Murray” Flett, CD (Ret'd) in Selkirk MB on 7 October 2020 at age 75 years. Murray was an Electrical Generating Systems Technician with the Canadian Military Engineers.

    Murray was born in Selkirk MB. After graduating high school, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1963 as a Military Policeman. He later transferred to the Electrical Generating Systems Technician trade where he served with the Canadian Military Engineers in locations such as the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering.

    Murray retired from the Canadian Forces in 1993. For his second career, he became a consultant/contractor for Power Generating Systems working in British Columbia and Manitoba and mostly for the Military. He was pleased to go back to Alert NU to supervise the new power plant that he had helped to construct while serving. After a second retirement, Murray became a guard for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Selkirk Detachment.

    There will be no funeral service but there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer's Society, CancerCare Manitoba for Prostate Cancer or any pet rescue of your choice. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
