We regret to advise of the death of Richard William Weed, peacefully, at the North Okanagan Hospice House in Vernon, BC on 11 May 2012 at the age of 89.

Richard was a WW II veteran who joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1942 and was employed as a dispatch rider.  He saw action in France, Belgium, and the liberation of Holland before coming home in 1946.  During the war years, Richard, being an amateur boxer, helped entertain the troops with his pugilist skills.  In the fifties, Richard moved from Regina to the Vancouver area and worked in construction doing stucco and plaster work.  In 1969 he moved to Vernon and started his own stucco business. For a time he lived in Armstrong on a hobby farm before returning to Vernon in 1975.

There will be no service by his wishes.  Donations may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.  {gdDec2016kh} [ xsp]
