Part of the plan for Operation Market Garden was for the Royal Engineers to assemble enough bridging and engineers to bridge every single river and canal from Joe's Bridge ( on the Bocholt-Herentals Canal outside the town of Neerpelt,Belgium) to Arnhem in case the German blew each bridge along the way. This required not only a large amount of men and material, but an incredible amount of planning.
Written from the point of view of the engineers that were attached to XXX Corps during Operation Market Garden, this is the story of what they went through and accomplished during the battle.
