Spr Joseph "Joe" Skorlatowski (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Joseph "Joe" Skorlatowski (Ret’d) at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon SK on 24 October 2014 at the age of 94 years.
Joe was born and grew up on the family farm near Lanigan SK and educated at Elmsville School. He was a WW II veteran who joined the Army in 1942 as a member of the Royal Canadian Engineers. He served in England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany with the 10th and 12th Field Companies.
After demobilization, Joe returned to the family farm and continued farming until 1963 at which time he moved his family into the town of Lanigan and began work at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. In 1969, Joe once again changed careers to work for Potash Corporation in Lanigan as a carpenter. He retired in 1985. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #143 and Knights of Columbus in Lanigan.
A Prayer Service will be held on 4 November at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 41 Shannon St, Laniganwith a Funeral Mass to follow on the next day in the same location.
