    After more than 19 Years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, MWO Bibault, CD, (00149) retired on 18 December 2024.. Anecdotes, photos, retirement wishes may be sent to MWO C.H. Fischer at christian.fischer@forces.gc.ca


    MWO Bibault was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the small town of Elm Creek, MB. In May 2005, at the age of 20 he joined the CAF as a Firefighter and attended BMQ in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. That fall, he completed his QL3 FFTR training and was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake.

    Promoted to Cpl in 2009 and posted to FA(P) where he was attached to HMCS Calgary and sailed on SOUTHPLOY, Ex RIMPAC, and as part of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic security force on Op PODIUM. In 2011 he was posted to HMCS Vancouver and deployed on Op MOBILE, participating in the NATO-led Op UNIFIED PROTECTOR during the Libyan civil war. HMCS Vancouver’s combat phase concluded on October 31, 2011, and was then transferred to the NATO-led Op ACTIVE ENDEAVOUR on November 15, 2011.

    In 2012, he was promoted to MCpl, completed his PLQ and was posted back to 4 Wing Cold Lake. He deployed to CFS Alert in 2013 for six months as the Station Deputy Fire Chief. He completed his QL6 in the spring of 2016, was promoted to Sgt, and posted back to HMCS Vancouver as the Snr FFtr. He met the ship in Guam as it began it’s 6-month WESTPLOY 16.

    In 2019 he married his lovely wife Stephanie, followed a posting to CFB Edmonton, promoted to WO, and introduced his wonderful daughter Scarlett to the world. He was promoted to MWO in 2023 and once again posted to 4 Wing as the Deputy Fire Chief. MWO Bibault released from the CAF in Dec 2024 with just under 20 years of service. He will be moving into a Fire Chief position with Mountain View County, AB, where he will settle with his beautiful family.
