We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Nelson George Porteous, CD (Ret'd) of Beaconsfield, Annapolis County NS, on 6 February 2020 at home at age 76 years.

Born in Hamiota MB, Nelson enlisted in 1964 and completed his basic and trade training at RCAF Station St Jean QC. He was among the first class of the new Canadian Forces trade of Water Sewage Petroleum Oil and Lubicants Technicians at the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC in 1968. Nelson served a full career with the Canadian Military Engineers and progressed to become a Mechanical Systems Technician.
