After more than 27 Years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, MWO Regier, CD, (00339) will retire on 07 January 2025. A Depart with Dignity (DWD) function will be held on 10 January 2025 commencing at 1400hrs at the Pizza Delight “Bunker” in Oromocto, N.B. Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Andy Regier is originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick (NB). He was born in August 1976 and joined the Canadian Armed Forces on 28 November 1997.
After completing his basic training and Infantry QL3, he started his career with 1 Royal New Brunswick Regiment (1 RNBR) in Fredericton, NB where he served for 3+ years.In Feb 2001, MWO Regier component transferred to the Regular Force. After completing his Combat Engineering QL3 at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME), he was posted to 1 Combat Engineer Regiment in Edmonton, Alberta (AB) where he was employed as a Sect Member and Troop Commander Driver/Comms. He deployed to Kananaskis, AB in June 2002 as part of a Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense Quick Reaction Force during the G8 Summit. MWO Regier also deployed to Bosnia in 2003, on OP PALLADIUM.
In 2004, MWO Regier completed his Heavy Equipment Operator Course and was moved into Heavy Equipment Troop (HET) as a section member. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2005, on OP ARCHER and again in 2006/2007 on OP ATHENA. In 2007, MWO Regier was awarded the Commanders Coin for his efforts on Range 25 in Wainwright, AB.
In 2008, MWO Regier was promoted to MCpl and posted to CFSME, where he was employed as a Heavy Equipment Instructor within HET and a QL6A instructor until 2012.
In 2012, MWO Regier was posted to 4 Engineer Support Regiment (4 ESR) as a Heavy Equipment Section Commander, Heavy Equipment Recce and Squadron Training Sgt. In 2014 he was awarded the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia coin for his efforts during the construction of an ice road at Alexander Lake in Goose Bay, Newfoundland.
From 2015 to 2019, MWO Regier was posted to CFSME into the Roads and Survey Cell as an instructor and cell supervisor. As a result of his performance, he earned the Commandants Commendation.
MWO Regier was posted to 4 ESR from 2019 to 2023, where he held the positions of Heavy Equipment Troop Warrant Officer, 48 Squadron Operations WO and Regimental Operations WO. Also deployed on two OP LENTUS’ in Nova Scotia for the hurricane relief effort.
MWO Regier was posted to CFSME as the Administration Squadron Sergeant Major in July 2023. Just after a year in that position and over 27 years of service, he will retire and remain in the Fredericton/Hanwell area with his wife, Angela and their daughter, Andreonna.
