MWO Chris Brown, CD, will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 19 Oct 2020, after more than 23 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch (See attached biography). Chris was born in Pictou N.S. and grew up in beautiful St. John’s Newfoundland. He joined the CAF as a Struct Tech in January of 1997. Beginning his career as a member of 144 AEF in Pictou, N.S. where he met his beautiful wife Lisa. He was posted to CFB Dundurn (CE) from 2001-2005 where he was employed in the Carpenter Shop and PMI/Estimating and Contracts cell. In 2005 he was posted to CFSME (CETS) as an instructor. In 2008 he was promoted to Sgt and posted to 1 ESU as the 3 SET Const Tech. After a tour to Afghanistan with 3 SET he was reunited with his family in Burton and posted back to CFSME in 2011 as the CEMS Ops WO. In 2013 he was promoted to WO and posted to 4 ESR as the Construction Troop WO. Upon completion of a French course in 2015 he was posted as SSM of the MSE at 2 AES in Bagotville, Q.C. In 2017 he was posted to Real Property Operations in Gagetown where he fulfilled the Sergeant Major position. His tours include CFS Alert 1999-2000 as Sawdust, Afghanistan 2009 and in 2013 he was the DART Engineer SSM during Operation RENAISSANCE 13-01 Philippines. Chris would like to thank all those he was blessed to work with over his 23 year career.
