We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Allen "Al" Sheffer, CD (Ret’d) on 3 February 2023, peacefully at the Chilliwack General Hospital at age 87 Years. Many will remember Al as the Field Engineer Career Manager in the 1970s.

Al initially enrolled in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers but transferred to the Royal Canadian Engineers as a Field Engineer.

Al’s service included the Royal Canadian School of Military Engineering as an instructor with Apprentice Training Squadron, 1 Field Squadron in Petawawa, 3 Field Squadron in Chilliwack and 4 Field Squadron in Germany as well as his being the Career Manager for the  Field Engineers and Firefighters in the 1970s. Al deployed on the United Nations mission in the Golan Heights.as a Acting Chief Warrant Officer and to Vietnam on the International Commission of Control and Supervision in Vietnam in 1973.
