MWO Scott Laird, CD

1. MWO Scott Laird will retire after completing over 32 years of loyal, dedicated and professional service to the Canadian Forces and Canada.
2. Scott joined the Reserve’s on 13 Dec 1975 at St John’s NF. He later transferred to the Regular component of the force in Feb 78. During a lengthy career he has served on a number of Base’s and Stations within Canada such as CFB Winnipeg, Edmonton, North Bay, Comox and CFS Alert. Scott has also participated in deployments to other parts of the world under the UN and NATO, (Golan Heights, Haiti and Bosnia).
3. After his retirement Scott has decided to remain in the Victoria area with his family and friends. The transition out of uniform should be fairly painless for him however. Rather than completely retire, he has accepted a civilian position within the Base CE organization as a contract coordinator (electrical). Where he can continue to use his skills and knowledge in support of DND.
4. A modest all ranks retirement function will be held in Scott’s honour. The exact date is still to be determined. It will probably be scheduled for sometime during the first two weeks of September.
