We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Douglas Martin Doucette, CD (Ret’d) of Oromocto NB on 29 June 2021 at age 72. Doug served for 25 years as a Construction Engineer with the Canadian Military Engineers.

Doug was born in Saint John NB and joined the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1966. He was a Plumber Gasfitter by trade who became a Construction Maintenance Technician with advancement in rank. During his career, Doug served in every province and territory in Canada, as well as in England, Bermuda, and Germany. Doug retired from the Canadian Forces in 1991 on a Friday and started the following Monday on what was to be a 19-year career in the hotel business. During this career, he rose from being the Chief Engineer of a single hotel to become Corporate Engineer of Maintenance for 26 hotels across Canada before he retired in 2010.

In accordance with Doug's wishes, there will be no formal funeral services, but an informal gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the John T McMillan Memorial Foundation (http://www.familieshelpingfamilies.ca/about-us/).
