MWO Dennis Terrence Cadeau will be retiring from the CF after 30 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Forces and the CME Branch. Dennis joined the military in November 13th 1979 in Peterborough, ON.
Upon completing his recruit training in CF Recruit School Cornwallis, he was transferred to CFB Chilliwack for his Combat Engineer course. While waiting for training he was sent for OJT at 1CER CFB Chilliwack.
After graduation from his TQ 3 in July 80, Sapper Cadeau was sent to 5e RGC Valcartier, where he served until Jul 84, before being posted to 4CER, Lahr Germany as a section member in Hvy Equpt Tp. After five great years in Germany and promoted to MCpl, later returned to Canadian soil, and posted to 56 Field Engr’s, CFS ST. John’s NL as the transport NCO. After serving three years on the “Rock”, MCpl Cadeau headed to 4ESR in June 1989., Promoted to Sgt in 1993, and completing the duties as Sect Cmdr, Recce Sgt ending in 1996. Summer of 1996 he was posted to 2CER, CFB Petawawa, and for the next three years split the time between Ress Tp,HET Tp WO, and Armd Tp Comd duties. In Jul 1999 Dennis headed back East, this time as an Instr at CFSME in the Standards Cell for the next two years. In June 2001, WO Cadeau returned to 2CER, as the Regt Ops NCO for the next three years. In 2004 MWO Cadeau was posted to Roads and Grounds CFB Borden for one year before being promoted to his current rank and posted in 2005 to position as a SSM working for the CLS in the G1 Plans decorate.
MWO Cadeau participated in the great Manitoba flood of 98, the 2000 Ice Storm and has deployments in Croatia, Bosnia, and the Middle East. He will remain in the Ottawa area with his spouse Debbie and their two children, Kyle and Sarah, who are 17 and 15 years old respectively.
He will pursue his military career with the reserves, accepting a class B position with Director Land Force Development directorate in Ottawa.
