MWO Bob Norton, CD

MWO Robert (Bob) Norton, will be retiring 18 Nov 2011 after 22 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to the National Defence Fire Service, CME Branch and the CF. Bob enrolled in the CF in 1989 as an artillery officer and, after attending basic officer training in Chilliwack BC, saw the light and decided that the non-commissioned route would be more to his liking. After completing his QL 3 training at the CF Fire Academy Borden, Bob was posted to a variety of locations over the next two decades including: HMC Ships Protecteur and Vancouver, 19 Wing Comox, 4 wing Cold Lake, and Sea Training Pacific. Bob proudly served as a part of OP Toucan in East Timor and OP Apollo in the Arabian Gulf. Bob has accepted a position as Director of protective services and Fire Chief for the district of Hudsons Hope, BC. A DWD will be held on 8 Nov 11 in the rainbow room at the CFB Esquimalt CPO and PO’s mess commencing at 1130. Dress will be civilian attire or dress of the day. Any and all congratulatory messages, anecdotes and best wishes can be forwarded via email to Michael.windsor@forces.gc.ca
