We regret to advise of the death of Master Seaman Bertle Bryn “Bert” Coffin, CD (Ret’d), of Gardiner Mines,NS suddenly at the QE II in Halifax, NS on 18 June 2019 at age 70.

Bert served with the Canadian Military Engineers for 24 years as a Firefighter in the Royal Canadian Navy where he served on the HMCS Nipogon and HMCS Perserver . He was also stationed at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Comox, BC, CFB Toronto, ON and CFB Halifax, NS.

In keeping with Bert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Gardiner Mines Community Hall (6429 Seaside Dr, Gardiner Mines, NS) on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the War Amps or the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Cancer Patient Fund.
