Mr. Jean-Louis Larabie, will retire from the public service on 27 March 2015 after 40 plus years of loyal and dedicated service to the public service 21 of which he served in support to the maritime mapping and navigation safety within the CME Branch (see attached bio). A DWD will be held at the Madison restaurant, 740 Boulevard Maloney Ouest, Gatineau at noon. Jean-Louis will enjoy a retirement with his wife and will stay here in Gatineau. or MWO Dominic Pintal DOMINIC.PINTAL@forces.gc.ca Jean-Louis Larabie is married to his beloved wife Denise for 36 years, father of four young women aged between 27 and 35 years & grandfather of two grandchildren. He was born in Ottawa and grew up in the Ottawa valley where he attended l’école Guigues, l’Académie La Salle and l’école secondaire de La Salle where he graduated in June 1974. His Public Service career began in September 1974 as a (lv 1 & 2) bookkeeper in an orderly room at 200 Elgin. He eventually got promoted as a (lv 3) scriptures clerk as a proof-reader and the layout editor in 1976. In 1985 he received another promotion to General Technician (lv 1); responsible for designing layout and and complex page publication. In 1994 he was transferred to “D Geo Int” (Maritime) as Marine Information Technician where he received training in maritime cartography and navigation. Through a reclassification, he became an EG-02 in 1998 and in August 2010, his position at the Maritime Information Centre was reclassified to EG-04 as the principal advisor to the maritime products. During his retirement, Jean-Louis plans to complete renovations, landscaping, a little traveling and camping, volunteering at his church but especially spend time with his beloved partner for the last 40 years, Denise. We thank him for his 40 years of dedicated service and we wish him well in his future endeavors.
