    After more than 14 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers, MCpl Neil Mannion, CD, will retire on 15 July 2023.     MCpl Neil Mannion will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 15 July 2023 after more than fourteen years of loyal and dedicated service.

    MCpl Mannion joined the CAF in 2009 as an AVS Tech. As AVS Tech was not his true calling, he transferred to Electrical Distribution (ED) Technician. Following the ED Tech DP1 course in 2011 and a posting to Winnipeg, MB, Neil continued to learn and understand the electrical trade for the next four years while completing his OJT logbook.

    During Op LENTUS 2014, MCpl Manion assisted with flood relief operations by filling sandbags in the community surrounding Winnipeg. In 2015, the completion of the DP2 course allowed him to deploy to Kuwait on Op IMPACT.

    In 2016, MCpl Mannion was posted to CFB Winnipeg Detachment Dundurn where he assisted in creating and monitoring contracts within the Contract Cell. He deployed to Jamaica to build a hurricane relief camp in 2017. In 2019, he deployed to Latvia on Op REASSURANCE.

    MCpl Mannion’s final posting in July 2021 was to CFSME as an instructor. Upon entering civilian life, he will pursue a two-year Programmer-Analyst degree from NBCC Fredericton. He will remain in Oromocto with his wife, Chelsea.
