MCpl Troy Durocher, CD

    MCpl Troy Durocher joined the Canadian Forces on 10 July 1990 as an Infanteer. After completion of basic training in Cornwallis, NS, Pte Durocher went to the RCR Battle School in CFB Petawawa, ON, and was posted to 1 RCR in London ON in February 1991. He was then posted back to Petawawa as the Regiment moved in July 1992. He was promoted to Cpl in July 1994. During his time with the RCR, he deployed to Croatia from October 1994 to April 1995, was promoted to MCpl in July 1996, and deployed to Bosnia from January 1998 to July 1998 and Kosovo from December 1999 to May 2000. He was promoted to Sgt in July 2002.

    In July 2005, Sgt Durocher became a Cpl once again with his re-muster to Firefighter. After his QL3 Apprentice course at CFFA, CFB Borden, Cpl Durocher was posted to 8 Wing Trenton, ON. He completed his QL5 Journeyman course in April 2007 and deployed to Afghanistan from October 2009 to April 2010, and was promoted once again to MCpl effective January 2010.

    MCpl Durocher was posted from 8 Wing Trenton to CFFCA, CFB Borden, ON in July 2011, where shortly thereafter, he submitted his release after 21 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CF, with a release date of 15 September 2011. Troy has accepted employment in Fort McMurray, AB and will be keeping a home base in Wasaga Beach ON with his wife Christine and their 2 children, Harley and Bailey. We wish all the best to Troy and his family during the next phase of his career.
