We regret to advise of the death of Master Corporal Russell Fillmore Teters, CD (Ret’d), peacefully on 29 April 2022 at home in Petawawa ON at the age of 59 years.

A native of Ottawa ON, Russell attended Woodroffe High School. He enlisted 1984 in Kingston ON and, after completing his basic training as a Plumber Gasfitter at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC, he was posted to Canadian Forces Base Kingston until 1994. This tour was followed by a short posting to Canadian Forces Base North Bay ON before he arrived at CFB Ottawa in 1995. Russell served next at CFB Trenton ON (1997– 02) before taking his release from the Canadian Forces as a Plumbing and Heating Technician. He transferred to the Supplementary Ready Reserve in 2004 and joined the Base Construction Engineers in CFB Petawawa ON for his second career as Plumbing and Heating Technician.

Russell had four deployments during his military career. He was on United Nations peacekeeping duties in Cyprus in 1989 and served three times with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force in Syria (1997-98, 2001 and 2003).

Cremation has taken place. In memory of Russell, donations to C-PAN would be appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
