MCpl Marc Jean Poulin, CD (Ret’d)
-
We regret to advise of the unexpected death of Master Corporal Marc Jean Poulin, CD (Ret’d) in Springhill, NS , on 20 March 2018 at age 42.
A native of North Bay, ON, Marc was a graduate of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Secondary School. He served with the Canadian Forces from 1999 until 2013, primarily as a Combat Engineer with 2 Combat Engineer Regiment, Petawawa. Marc had deployed to Afghanistan on three tours of duty. Upon retirement from the Canadian Forces he had returned to North Bay but had recently resettled to Springhill, NS.
Marc put his uniform and boots on every morning with such pride. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, snowmobiling, mudding and his bonfires. Marc had a contagious laugh and smile. He was trying to find peace and happiness but, unfortunately, the demons from many traumatic events overseas took over. Marc's family would want us to use Marc's passing to inspire awareness and to help veterans who suffer from PTSD to get the help they need. Donations to "Wounded Warriors" in his honour would be appreciated.
A Celebration of Life for Marc will he held on Sunday, 8 April 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Elks Club, 325 Elks Lane, North Bay ON. Online condolences may be left at the Funeral Home.
