We regret to advise of the death of Master Corporal Jean-Marc "Bouboulle" Rodrigue CD (Ret'd) on 17 February 2019 of an illness at Maison Paul-Triquet (Veterans) of Quebec City, QC at the age of 79 years.
Jean-Marc enlisted in the Canadian Forces in Quebec City in 1957 as an infantryman with the Royal 22e Régiment and served with them until 1967. During these years he served at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier, participated in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Cyprus and then served in Germany for more than six years. During his tour in Germany, he was employed as an infantryman as well as with the anti-tank platoon. Jean-Mark transferred to the Canadian Military Engineers as a Sapper in 1967. He worked in 5 Combat Engineer Regiment and at the Valcartier base. From 1972 until 1982, he was the manager of the Valcartier base arena. Jean-Mark retired from the Canadian Forces in 1982 after 25 years of loyal service. After his release from the CF, he devoted his time to the administration of his apartment building as well as his private residence.
The family will receive condolences, in the presence of ashes, at the Deux Rives Funeral Cooperative, St-Charles Funeral Center, 1420 Wilfrid-Hamel Boulevard, Quebec G1N 3Y6 on Saturday, 2 March 2019, from noon to 3:00 pm. A liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at the salon the same day at 3:00 pm Burial of the ashes will be at St. Charles Cemetery at a later date.
