    We regret to advise of the death of Malcolm Edward `Mac` Locke on 22 July 2002 in Taber, AB at the age of 83 years.

    Mac was born in Central Butte, SK.  He was a veteran of the Second World War and served in the Royal Canadian Engineers in the Italian and Northwest Europe Campaigns.  On returning to Canada Mac and his wife bought farmland in Hays, AB under the Veteran`s Land Act and farmed for many years.  Mac was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #193 in Vauxhall, AB where served for 56 years, including as terms as President, Past President, and Sports Chairman.   A highlight of his life was being able to travel back to Holland, where he renewed friendships with families he had met in World War II.

    Visitation will take place at the Southland Funeral Chapel in Taber on 25 July from 7:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church in Vauxhall on 26 July at 2:00 PM.  Interment to follow at the Vauxhall Cemetery. {dcMar2018gd} [zsd, zpp]
