Maj Ron Carriere, CD

    Major Ron Carriere, CD will retire from the Canadian Armed Forces on 09 February 2018, after 35 years of loyal and dedicated service to the CAF and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch (see bio attached).

    After 35 years of service, Maj Ron Carriere will soon retire from the CAF on 9 Feb 2018.

    Ron joined the CAF on Feb 1983 where he completed his training as a MILE Officer. He was then posted as the Engineering Officer at BCE in Kingston. From there he served twice in Germany, first with 4 Combat Engineer Regiment in Lahr and then with 32 Engineer Regiment (Royal Engineers) in Munsterlager. Ron also served as the Senior Instructor Tactics at Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering.

    In Ottawa, Maj Ron Carriere was posted in a variety of staff positions which included a stint in DLFR 5 at the CA HQs and then SO to the DGLS. He also served at CANOSCOM HQ as a staff officer in OS J5 and then in OS Engr 3. In 2011, Ron was posted to CANSOFCOM HQ where he served as acting SSO Engr and DSR 6-2. Ron then joined the community at CF RP Ops Gp in January 2016 as J3-3.

    Ron deployed overseas to the KPRT on Op Athena from May to August 2010.

    Ron and Maureen have recently celebrated their 37 wedding anniversary. Maureen will also soon retire from her job at the RCMP next spring. They have two wonderful children, Adele and Ryan and both are married to the best in-laws, Matt and Marie-Eve.

    Ron and Maureen are very much looking forward to the countless hours that they will now have at their disposal to spend with their three beautiful grandchildren, Lauren, Oliver and Claire.

    Ron is currently pursuing his other passion which is the development of his waterfront property in South Lancaster where he and Maureen intend to move there permanently once complete.
