We regret to advise of the death of Major Rinaldo “Reno” Robert Cyr, CD (Ret'd) at home in Ottawa on Wednesday, 17 October 2018 at age 77 after a long battle.

Born and raised in New Brunswick, after attending the University of New Brunswick, Reno left the Maritimes to begin his military career with the Canadian Military Engineers.  Many postings, good friends and incredible memories later, Reno retired from the Canadian Armed Forces. A highlight of his military career was Reno's appointment as Commanding Officer of 22 Field Squadron in Camp Gagetown (1973-75). After his retirement, Reno attended the University of Western Ontario (1979-81) to begin his second career and then spent many years working for the Office of the Auditor General of Canada.

Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at Beechwood Funeral at Cemetery Services on Friday, 26 October 2018. Funeral service will also be at Beechwood at 2:00 pm and Reno will be laid to rest at Beechwood immediately following the service. Condolences can be sent to Beechwood.
