Maj P. Blanchette, MSM, CD

    Major Pascal Blanchette will be retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces on 19 August 2015, with 17 years of loyal and dedicated service to Canada.

    Major Blanchette joined the Canadian forces on 17th June 1998 and he graduated from the Kingston Royal Military College in Civil Engineering. After completing his Military Engineer officer’s Training, Major Blanchette was posted to 192 AEF Abbotsford (BC) as flight commander; following that, he was posted as Project Engineer Op to Calumet Sinai Egypt. After completing his Master degree in engineering structural science (Force protection engineering) at the State College Pennsylvania, Major Blanchette was posted to Moncton 1ESU in variety of positions (FPE Officer, Sqn 2 IC). From November 2010 to July 2011, he was the OC ESS for ROTO 10 of Op ATHENA in Afghanistan, following that he joined the Canadian Special Operations Forces Command (CANSOFCOM) as an Engineer Staff Officer. Before retiring, Major Blanchette was the WCEO at 3 Wing Bagotville.

    Major Blanchette received in 2013 a military decoration from the General Governor of Canada for the services he had done in Afghanistan.
