Maj N.C. Price, CD
-
After more than 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineer Branch, Maj Nathan Price, CD, will retire on 24 June 2024. Anecdotes and well wishes may be sent directly to Maj Price at NathanPrice123@hotmail.com.
Nathan grew up in White River, Northern Ontario, and joined the Canadian Army in June 1999. Upon finishing high school, he entered the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Kingston, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science. He was happy to learn, during his Engr Phase IV course party, that his transfer to the Engineers had finally gone through.
He has served with 1 Combat Engineer Regiment and deployed to Kandahar in 2006 as a Troop Comd for Task Force Afghanistan Roto 1. Upon his return, he served as the Regt Trg O and then completed his time at the Regiment as a Sqn 2IC. Returning to RMC in 2008, he moved into the Stone Frigate as 1 Sqn Comd and coached the RMC Sandhurst team. In addition, he took on Comd of 5 Sqn when his wife, Sandra, went on parental leave with their first daughter, Isla. He’s still unsure how that became the preferred solution. Aside from a brief posting to 5 Div HQ in 2013 and four years with CADTC as the Range and Training Area Management Officer from 2018 to 2022, he spent the majority of his career with Real Property. Starting as the Requirements Officer in Kingston in 2011, he moved on to Halifax as the Contracts Officer in 2012 and fulfilled various roles in 5 ESU HQ in 2014. From 2015 to 2018, he completed the highlight of his career as the Base Construction Engineering Officer in Gagetown.
Posted to Ottawa in 2022, Major Price will end his career in ADM(IE) as the J5-3 for RP Ops Gp HQ. He is very grateful for the opportunity to complete his last year remotely from Colorado Springs, accompanying his wife, Sandra, on her posting with his two daughters, Isla and Lillian, and their two black labs, Shadow and Dahlia.
He would like to thank all the amazing people he has met along the way. To him, the best part of the military is the extended family that grows with every posting. He will not have a DwD, however LCol Patry has graciously agreed to take him out to an all-inclusive KC Chiefs game. Any well wishes can be sent directly to Nathan at: nathanprice123@hotmail.com.
