After more than 18 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers Branch, Maj Marc-Etienne Rodrigue, CD, will retire on 13 August 2022. The Departure with Dignity function will take place on the afternoon of Thursday, 4 August 2022 at Picaroons Roundhouse in Fredericton, NB. Please contact Capt J.D. Major Marc-Etienne Rodrigue joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2004. He graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada with great honour, earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 and a Master's degree in Applied Sciences of Civil Engineering with a specialization in environmental engineering in 2011.
In 2013, Maj Rodrigue earned a university certificate in Project Management from Mount Royal University. He became certified as a Professional Engineer in 2019.
Following officer training with the Royal Canadian Engineers (RCE) in 2012, Maj Rodrigue was posted to 4 ESR / 42 Fd Sqn as a Squadron Operations Officer.
In 2013, Maj Rodrigue was posted to BCE Halifax as a Staff Officer, Deputy Engineering Officer, and Section 2I/C (RPOS(H)) for a section of 300 primarily public-service employees, managing an annual budget over $110 million. He completed AOC in 2017 and was subsequently posted to Gagetown as a Detachment 2I/C (RPOU (A) Det Gt).
Maj Rodrigue was promoted to his current rank in 2018 and employed as the 5th Canadian Division Ranges and Training Areas Management Officer. Since June 2020, he has been the Commanding Officer of RPOU (A) Det Gt. He will leave the CAF in August 2022.
Marc-Etienne is married to Dr. Jessica Bossé of Fredericton and they are parents to Félix (7) and Jasper (4). In his spare time, he enjoys woodturning, the outdoors, and scuba diving. Maj Marc-Etienne Rodrigue will remain in the Fredericton region following his release.
