Maj Keith Harold Ennis, CD (Ret'd)

We regret to advise of the death of Major Keith Harold Ennis, CD (Ret’d) on Sunday, 28 October 2018 in Ottawa, ON at age 87.
Keith served with the Canadian Military Engineers on postings that included units at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa ON, Camp Dundurn SK, Canadian Forces Station Gimli MB and as a Liaison Officer with the Canadian Defence Liaison Staff in London, England. After his retirement from the Canadian Forces at the rank of Major Keith continued working at National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa for another 13 years as a civilian engineer with the Public Service until his second retirement in 1991.
Keith was an avid runner until the age of 80 and was particularly proud of having run 18 marathons, including 2 Boston Marathons. In his spare time Keith enjoyed officiating at Ontario Track and Field Association track and field events as a starter for many years, including the World Indoor Championships and the Canadian Senior Championships.
Honouring Keith’s wishes, a private cremation was held on Sunday, 4 November 2018 and there will be no funeral or memorial event. Condolences can be left at the Funeral Co-operative of Ottawa. In remembrance, please consider making a donation to Parkinson Canada.
