Maj Arthur Aubrey Brown, CD (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Major Arthur Aubrey Brown, CD (Ret’d), tragically at his winter home in Mexico on 18 November 2018 at age 82.
Aubrey was born in Holstein ON and attended Holstein Continuation School and Mount Forest High School. Joining the Regular Officer Training Plan, he earned a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto. He later earned a Masters degree at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. In his second career he earned another Masters degree in Municipal Planning from the University of Victoria.
Aubrey’s career in the Army took him to many places in Canada and with 4 Field Squadron in Werl, Germany. A highlight of his career was his appointment as Commanding Officer of 3 Field Squadron in Chilliwack 1971-73. He retired from the Canadian Forces in 1974 and and took up residence in Victoria where he began a second career with the government of British Columbia. Aubrey retired in 1997 after a 23-year career with the Ministry of the Environment.
