Lt Robert H Nunn (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Lieutenant Robert H Nunn (Ret’d) on 10 September 2008 at the age of 88 years.
Robert was a veteran of the Second World War. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers as a sapper and was sent to England. He initially worked on camp construction tasks building Quonset Huts for hospitals. In February 1943, he returned to Canada to attend officer training in Trois Rivieres, QC. He was commissioned as an infantry officer and was posted back to England to serve in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada. He was seriously wounded in July 1944 at the Falaise Gap battle and evacuated to Botley Park hospital in England. Following his recovery, he was posted to the Canadian Military Headquarters in London until the end of the war.
After the war, Robert returned to Tillsonburg, ON where he lived the rest of his life. Robert is buried in Aylmer, ON.
