We regret to advise of the death of Lieutenant Howard William McFarlane (Ret'd) on 23 March 2012 at Thomas Hall in Fredericton at the age of 90 years.

Howard was born in St John, NB and graduated from the University of New Brunswick with the Class of '43. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving as a lieutenant with the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war, he returned to UNB in 1946 and had a distinguished career teaching civil engineering for the next 35 years. He was also active as a consultant and was a founding member of Associated Designers and Inspectors.

Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York St., on Tuesday, 27 March 2012 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will be at St. Paul’s United Church on 28 March at 2:00 pm.
