    We regret to advise of the death of Lance Corporal Harold Wesley Bedford (Ret’d) on 16 June 2002 at the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 84 years.

    Harold was born in Napinka, MB.  He was a Second World War veteran who served overseas in England and Holland with the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1941 to 1945.  He was a Life Member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #7 in Transcona, MB.  In addition, he served in various other executive positions over the years including Treasurer of Zone 62 of the Legion for many years.  Harold was a carpenter and active in the Carpenters and Joiners Union 343 where he served as President and Business Agent until his retirement.  

    Funeral services will be held on 21 June at the Transcona Funeral Chapel with members of the Carpenters Union and Legion as active pallbearers.  There will be a full Legion Honours service.  Harold will be buried in the Military Section of the Transcona Cemetery.  Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  {dcFeb2017gd} [zsd, zcc, zsp]
