LCol/Lcol N.M.G.R. Primeau, CD
After more than 25 years of loyal and dedicated service to the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Military Engineers Branch, LCol Mathieu Primeau, CD, will retire on 02 August 2022. LCol Mathieu Primeau grew up in Lévis, Québec, and joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997. He is a graduate of the US Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), and holds two Military Master’s degrees in Arts and Science (MMAS) from the US Army Command and General Staff College, a Master’s degree in Science from Cranfield University, UK, in Defence Geospatial Information, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He served as Military Advisor to the Deputy Minister of National Defense, Deputy Commanding Officer of the Mapping and Charting Establishment, Chief Geospatial Officer in Regional Command (South) of ISAF in Afghanistan in 2007, commanded multiple sub-units, and was the senior military planner for the Army Manoeuver and Training Center. He is a guild member of the Military Design International Council and acts as a facilitator and guest instructor in support of the Canadian Forces College and other institutions.
LCol Primeau is married to Karine Berthiaume and proud father of Stella, who is 9 years old. In his spare time, he builds cedar strip crafts or paddles them in and around beautiful Ottawa. Mathieu will remain in Ottawa and after a brief vacation, will commence his new career with ESRI Canada in September 2022.
