LCol Mark Flint, CD

    LCol Flint is married to the beautiful and amazingly patient Anne and they have two reasonably normal kids John-William and Emily. He attributes his successes to their unwavering support and he is extremely proud of them all.

    LCol Flint has commanded 1 Troop in 1 Combat Engineer Regiment, the Airborne Engineer Platoon in the Canadian Airborne Regiment and 52ieme Escadron de Campagne in 5ieme RGC. During his command time he supported the 2 PPCLI Battle Group during Op HARMONY Roto 2 (including the Medak Pocket Operation) and deployed as part of the 3R22R Groupement Tactique on Op PALLADIUM Roto 9.

    Staff highlights include Senior Instructor Tactics at the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering, Engineer Officer Career Manager, Deputy Commanding Officer of 2 CER, the Army G35, the Joint Engineer at the Canadian Expeditionary Force Command HQ, Commanding Officer 1 CER and, most recently, Commanding Officer of the Mission Transition Task Force Engineer Regiment in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

    LCol Flint has completed the Ammunition Technical Officer Course (Shrivenham, UK), the Combat Team Commander’s Course, the Land Force Command and Staff Course and the Canadian Forces Joint Command and Staff Program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Acadia University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, and a Master’s Degree in Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada. LCol Flint is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Nova Scotia.

    On April 16, 2012, LCol Flint became Chief Executive Officer of The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. The Flint family plan to remain in the Edmonton area.
