    We regret to advise of the death of Joseph Lucien Guy Pierre “Pete” Morin peacefully on 5 March 2011 at the age of 75 years.

    Pete was born in Aylmer, QC and received his early education at Bréboeuf School in Hull, QC and his high school education at Lasalle Academy in Ottawa, ON.  This was followed by courses in printing at Ottawa Technical High School.  In 1956 he joined the Army Survey Establishment (ASE) in Ottawa as a Student Draftsman and qualified as Draftsman Grade 1 in 1958.  During the years that followed, through courses and experience, he achieved the level of DD4 in 1967.  Pete had a 35-year career with ASE where he worked on a wide variety of map products but much of his career was involved with the Joint Operations Graphic (JOC) series of maps. In 2002 he retired to his cottage on Heney Lake, QC.

    A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 435 Montreal Road, Ottawa on 9 March at 10:30 AM. Donations may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.  {gdMar2017dc}
