During the pandemic, Canadian Forces units have been forced to conduct Professional Development on a remote basis.
To support this effort both Clearing the Way and our first documentary, If I Should Fall, are available to units on a complimentary basis.
Released in 2011, If I Should Fall is a multiple award-winning documentary film that explores the experience of death, loss and grief upon comrades, family and friends, through the life and death of Trooper Marc Diab of the Royal Canadian Dragoons who was Killed in Action on 7 March 2009, while on a patrol with Canadian Combat Engineers in Kandahar Province.
For those not familiar with Clearing the Way: Combat Engineers in Kandahar, it was released in 2017, this award-winning documentary follows the story of 23 Field Squadron, 2 Combat Engineer Regiment, during their deployment to Afghanistan from August 06 to March 07. At the heart of the film is Operation MEDUSA, which took place from the 2nd until the 17th of September 2006.
