We regret to advise of the death of John Donald 'Don' Allan on 8 December 2010.

Don obtained degrees from the University of Alberta (BSc Engineering), Queens (MSc Geology) and MIT (PhD Geology). He served as an officer with the Royal Canadian Engineers during WWII. Upon returning to civilian life, he joined the Manitoba Mines Branch in 1946, followed by a career with California Standard (Chevron) in 1951 where he worked until his retirement in 1981.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Park Memorial Chapel, Calgary on 15 December 2010. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Calgary Food Bank. In living memory of Don Allan, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial Chapel, Calgary.
