We regret to advise of the death of Corporal John "Blackie" Alexson on 26 July 2012 at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon SK at the age of 91 years.

John was born in Hazel Dell SK and was a veteran of the Second World War. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1941 and served in Italy and Northwest Europe. He was discharged in 1946. After returning to Canada, John farmed at Quill Lake and later with Canada Post and BC Packers until his retirement in 1980. He was active in sports and the Quill Lake Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion where he was first vice-president for four years and Sergeant-at-Arms for ten years. 

A Funeral Service will be held on 2 August 2012 at Hillcrest Funeral Home with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Saskatoon. Condolences may be sent to the website www.hillcrestmemorial.ca. {khmay15dc}
