We regret to advise of the death of Master Warrant Officer Garry David Michael McNab, CD (Ret’d), peacefully at home on 6 March 2026 at age 76.
Garry enlisted in the Royal Canadian Engineers in 1967 at age 17 and served the Canadian Military Engineers for 25 years as a Combat Engineer. He served mostly in our Combat Engineer Regiments, including 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (CER), twice in 4 CER in Lahr Germany and with the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering in Chilliwack BC. Garry achieved the rank of Master Warrant Officer and the appointment of Squadron Sergeant Major.
Gary retired from the Canadian Forces in 1991 after his 4 CER tour and then pursued a second career of 25 years at BC Hydro, during which time he became a qualified Construction Technician.
Garry was an outstanding musician and a staple of the Lower Mainland music scene for over 50 years, playing with countless musicians and bands locally and overseas. Garry was also a proud member of the Manitoba Metis Federation with a deep pride in this heritage.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, 29 March 29, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Port Moody Legion Club 119 {2529 Clarke St Port Moody, BC} Online condolences can be sent to the funeral home.
