Published January 26, 2026

The CMEA is pleased to join our Colonel Commandant in sending greetings and best wishes to Maj Roger Bourgeous, CD (Ret’d) on the occasion of his 100th birthday.

Roger Bourgeous started his military career as Crewman in the Armoured Corps but remustered to Clerk, Royal Canadian Engineers – an Army trade that disappeared with Unification. He was Commissioned from the Ranks from Finance Clerk to CME Officer in 1968 and spent most of the remainder of his career in NDHQ in ADM Personnel.

Roger was first posted to the Director General Personnel Careers staff where he managed all the CME Non-Commissioned Members occupations. He then became Military Secretary to the Chief of Personnel. This appointment was followed by his becoming Executive Assistant to the Associate ADM Personnel. Roger retired in 1981to Richmond, Ontario, where he had lived since 1969.

Most of the ‘Old Guard’ and COs will remember Roger from his time in PCOT – MILE as Career Manager for CME Trades. Many CME Career Managers benefited over the years when Roger provided advice and continuity from his different staff positions within ADM Personnel.
